Market study team visits Syangja to document Smart Sprayer impact and farmer experiences

The Climate Resilience Research Center (CRRC), in partnership with FutureWater and Practica, is implementing the Smart Sprayer project to promote efficient irrigation solutions for smallholder farmers in Nepal’s mid-hills.

On 18–19 March 2026, a market study team from Kathmandu visited Syangja to collect field insights and develop promotional content on the Smart Sprayer and the broader Croptimal package. The team engaged closely with farmers, conducting interviews and capturing their experiences using the technology.

Farmers shared positive feedback, highlighting how the sprayer has improved irrigation efficiency and supported better crop production. Many expressed motivation to continue using such technologies and showed interest in learning more and expanding their involvement in future.

The team also visited Putalibazar Municipality and Bheerkot Municipality, where they interviewed mayors and agriculture officers. Local government representatives expressed encouraging views on the technology, noting its relevance for local farming systems. Both municipalities indicated plans to consider allocating budget for the Smart Sprayer in upcoming programs, while Bheerkot also showed interest in conducting field demonstrations to further assess its performance.

The visit aimed to capture perspectives from farmers, local governments, and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive promotional video highlighting the effectiveness, usability, and future potential of the Smart Sprayer in Nepal.
