The Climate Resilience Research Centre (CRRC) organised a public hearing programme in Ward No. 10, Rangkhola, Putalibazar Municipality, bringing together local government representatives, municipal staff, and community stakeholders to review project progress, share achievements, and discuss the roadmap ahead.
The programme was chaired by Ward Chairperson Mr. Agni Prasad Poudel and attended by 43 people. Attendees included Mayor Mr. Tulsi Ram Regmi, the Vice-Mayor, the municipality’s Chief Administrative Officer, agriculture department staff, CRRC committee members, and other local stakeholders.
The event began with opening remarks from CRRC Founder Mr. Shankar Prasad Lamichhane, who welcomed participants and explained the purpose of the hearing. CRRC’s technical team then gave an overview of the project, covering its objectives, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, key achievements, challenges faced, and plans for the work ahead. This was followed by a financial briefing from CRRC accountant Mr. Madhav Lamsal, who presented the project’s expenses, invested funds, and overall income and expenditure summary.
The floor was then opened for comments and feedback. The Chief Administrative Officer described the technology introduced through the project as timely and beneficial, urging CRRC to continue the initiative and encourage more farmers to adopt it. Agriculture Officer Ms. Sushma Paneru noted that the technology holds particular promise for farmers with flat land, and affirmed that CRRC could help facilitate access for interested farmers.
Mayor Tulsi Ram Regmi expressed strong support for the initiative, pledging to help extend such technologies across all wards of the municipality wherever feasible. Closing the discussion, Chairperson Agni Prasad Poudel expressed his satisfaction that most of the participating farmers were from Rangkhola itself, and commended the encouraging feedback shared by the farmers throughout the project.
The programme concluded with a shared commitment among local government representatives and stakeholders to sustain and scale up the initiative, reflecting broad, on-the-ground support for CRRC’s continued work with farming communities in Putalibazar Municipality.
